Contacting the Police:

The Police Department switched their dispatching function from "in-house" to the Regional Emergency Dispatch (RED) Center in the early 1990's.   This move helped Canal Fulton save many dollars.  As a matter of fact, the City saves approximately $100,000 every year using this new service.  However, the move has created confusion on how to contact your Police Department.

Calls to the Police Department fall into these categories:

EMERGENCY:
  • Accident with injuries
  • Fire
  • Crime in Progress
  • Breathing Problems
  • Choking
  • Unconsious Person
  • Poisoning
  • Drowning
  • Stabbing or Shooting
  • Fights or Displays of Weapons
  • Life Threatening Situations
NON-EMERGENCY:
  • Minor Accidents
  • Barking Dogs
  • Report of a Crime after it occurred
  • Power Outage
  • Abandoned Vehicle
  • Loud Parties
  • Keys Locked in Vehicle
  • Parking Complaint
  • Suspicious Person

Please Remember To Dial 9-1-1 For Emergency Calls

Things to Keep in Mind:  Any non-emergency calls that require a police officer to respond, please call 330-854-2211.  Any calls seeking general information not requiring a police officer should be made to 330-854-2926, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
